One of the strangest examples of this was the case 
of Florence Nightingale. She was a nurse in the 
Crimean War. The Crimean War was the first war 
ever reported by telegraph, daily, to a reading 
public. And her image built up in these daily 
instantaneous reports from the front. And she’s a 
very useful, a very important, example of what kind 
of relation of involvement, depth involvement, 
people have upon committing themselves to this 
instantaneous circuitry.
